The blasphemic war in which King Ys rallied a mighty host and slew the Gods of Men, claiming the Divine Empire as his own, and placing Man’s destiny in their own hands once again.
It is said that the armies of King Ys, along with his loyal Warband, drew battle with the Divine Host of the Gods of Men, along with their mighty Servati, in a single, climactic battle. Neither side would yield, and in the end the aweful Magick of the King and his swelling army broke the ranks of the Gods. When the smoke cleared, the Gods were slaughtered or routed, never to be seen again.
At the sight of this foul deed, a full half of the King’s banners turned their back on the scene and, returning home, split from the Divine Empire, now the Empire of Man. They returned to the worship of the Gods of Man, in the vain hope that the gods could not truly be killed. The tear in the domains of Man has not been mended to this day, ever since Godsfall.
